Tsunami Hit Japan 110311

It was shocking news when Tsunami struck Japan... I was still in the office preparing to go home and when I knew about it, my heart goes out to the victims. It was frightening to know what can happen in a blink when there is a natural disaster that no one can prevent from happening except the almighty God.

I suddenly remember that my little aunt and cute little cousin are still in Yokohama. Why I call them 'little' because they are younger than me. The mom is younger a few years than me and the daughter is even younger, she's only 5 yrs. We were worried about them as there were no updates from them and this morning glad to hear that they're all safe, but still shaken by the event. They were unable to communicate because the phone and internet lines were out.

We, at home, were also panicked when there was a Tsunami alert from 6pm until 12midnight last night at our place. The meteorological department announced that the rise in water level might occur along the coastal areas in Sabah and Labuan. Our house is just 5-minutes away from the sea... so, it was quite scary. Thank God, it was a relief when the Government ended the alert a few hours before midnight.

"I send my thoughts and prayers for those who are affected.
May they will be strong and may God bless them all."

Be Careful with Your Steps

I heard from a colleague that another colleague fell down and scratched her jeans/ knees just in front of the steps at the staff entrance where I work. Several months ago, another colleague from a different department had a miscarriage because she slipped and fell while cleaning up one of the hotel rooms.

When we talked about it during lunch, it suddenly reminds me of my bad experience. It was a few years back some time in year 2006 if I'm not mistaken. I had just finished working and hubby *at that time we weren’t married yet* was waiting inside the car. On my way to the car, I had to walk to the parking lot. At each side of the walkway, there were hedge plants and some of the dead leaves were lying on the ground. I accidentally stepped on one of it and it was slippery that I suddenly slipped and fell down. I was shocked, but I managed to get up as fast as I could and just acted like there was nothing happened when it was actually SO painful. Lucky, I didn't break any bones.

So, when I was already inside the car, I told hubby about it and asked why he didn't come out from the car. He apparently didn't notice that I had an accident because it happened in a flash. Although it was throbbing hurt at that time, but I remember I could still laugh and thought that it was funny when he told me that he was watching me from the rear view when I was coming out from the building and wondered why I've suddenly 'disappeared' and the next second surprised to see me standing at the side of the car hahaha...

Anyway, folks, just be very careful when walking, ya! I could still joke about my experience, but others might leave scars not only physically, but also mentally. To finish off my post for today, I leave you with Austin personal injury attorney he he... Don't Crawl on My Wall!

Yuuhuuu... :-D

Finally, I got some free time to update my blog he he... I was supposed to write about my FB status, right?! I'm over it already, but juz wanna share as promised. ;-)

As mentioned before, I work in the hotel industry. So, a few days ago, I received a call from the hotel guest and he asked something that has simply amused me. He was actually asking about the features of the hotel bathroom in a broken language, whether it has a 'huge water basin' or the 'water comes down from the roof'... What he actually meant was; large basin = bathtub, water comes down from the roof = shower... HE HE HE... BUT OF COURSE I didn't laugh straightaway upon hearing this question...

So, I posted this conversation in my FB status... merely for a laugh of the day. Obviously, it was funny, but I NEVER mentioned anything about how I responded to this question and what my conversations were after that with this man. There were humorous responses from my friends until suddenly... I was bombarded with comments from one particular guy, who happened to be related to me, but we are not close. He was also an ex-classmate in elementary school, but I only added him as a friend on FB in last Nov or Dec.

He commented that I SHOULD TREAT THE GUEST NICELY... He said sometimes it is a test to see how much the staff is willing to assist the guest... and he said: "Being a local, i always have to confront the manager when most staff treats local one par below than the novelty foreigners..." It happens, but did I say I laugh at this guest's face, being rude and ignore him?? I've heard many funny questions or worst before. Sometimes, there are guests who will laugh along other times, I have to wait until I put down the phone before I burst into laughter or curse haha... I'm only human!

That was still OK, but hold a sec... It seems like he was saying that I was practicing double standard on this guy because he's a local??? Or I may have misunderstood his meaning, but he then posted MOREEE about his experiences staying in other hotels from Jakarta-Singapore-Thailand-Hong Kong and on and on... OMGGGG!!! Was he trying to brag or something??? Or was he implying that I was lack of customer service???

Other people who have commented on my wall were taken aback of him spamming my wall, more than 10 comment boxes!!! It didn't only annoy me, but my friends were also irritated. Some of them said that they have started to type to respond to his comments, but decided not to publish their comments because they didn't want it to turn bad on my wall. My younger sis PM me and asked if he's a newbie in FB and the eldest sis suggested that he should create a blog! LOL!!

I, on the other hand didn't feel right about it as if I was a bad person, SO, I told him what my point was... that the question WAS simply funny. I also told him that I've been working in this industry for many years, so, I know what I'm doing. I said that I AM A GUEST myself and each of us has different experiences and expectations of the services we are paying for... (Am I right???) And then I did thank him for sharing, but somehow, told him to go and share his experiences in the TRIP ADVISOR. ;-PPP

I've already changed the settings and hide my posts from him he he... coz I'm afraid he will repeat the same thing on MY wall. I've seen he's been doing it to some people who happen to be my friends as well. So, I think I'm making the right decision... What say you, peeps???
