Too Little, Too Late...

A few weeks ago, hubby dreamt of my late uncle. In his dreams, he said that if you wish to do something do not put it off until it's too late otherwise you will regret because life's too short. We've heard about this many times before, but still we tend to procrastinate and wait until tomorrow... What if tomorrow never comes???

My uncle had very sad events in his life. He had a broken marriage and sadly that his children grew up without actually knowing him in person, how he was such a humble, helpful, jovial, friendly, likeable, kind, caring man... He left home when his kids were still very young and small, not because of there's any home wrecker, but merely because of his ex-wife. She was fierce, full of hatred and angered. She controlled his life and money. She made his life hard with her never ending dramas. Each day things became worsen and he was suffering, but one day he suddenly had a little courage. He divorced her. However, he left his children with a heavy heart...

For the first few years, he lived with us, but his life was already miserable until he met his second wife and rebuilt his life. Good thing was his employer knew about his situation and how the ex-wife treated him badly. They knew him well, so, he still had his job. He began to enjoy life again and day by day he became a better man. However, despite all that, he missed his children very much. Whenever we encouraged him to see them, he was hesitant and would always made excuses, "someday," "later", "not now..." He was scared that they would not accept him and feared that his ex-wife had poisoned their minds. He wasn't ready, but the hope was all gone...

That day, his children, all grown ups came to his house for the first time (and the last...) to attend his funeral. The ex-wife was also there. They were full of tears, regrets and the youngest daughter even said... "Too little, too late..." Mom and other relatives told them how their father was when he was alive. He didn't forget about them, in fact he did love and care about them... He even left all his hard earned money to the eldest son...

So, dear friends, even if you have heard this for the hundredth times before, let us all try harder to prioritize the things in our lives and live happily... don't leave with regrets...

Life's Too Short

Well, take good care and be safe! :-)
