I’ve written a post about my aunt who passed away because of breast cancer before in Life Oh Life, and while I was searching for the ‘Breast Cancer Awareness’ site, I’ve stumbled upon these two interesting blogs: ChanKelwin.com and Pelf-ism is Contagious. I’m so happy because at least I can do something in effort to raise the awareness on breast cancer.
How can you help?
*Below are the four points, recommended by Pelf:-
1. Spread the word. Announce the event on your blog. You could write a blog post (like this), or a little note about it. Whatever you choose to do, just go ahead and tell your readers about it.
2. Go pink. Modify your theme if you know how to, or get yourself a pretty pink theme. If you run a website, turn your website pink. But if you don’t like pink, you could still participate by putting up a badge on your sidebar.
3. Design badges and banners. Design a couple of “Pink for October” badges or banners for other participants to use (for free) and to publicize the event. Some of the existing badges and banners can be downloaded from the Official Pink for October Site.
4. Design blog themes. There are a lot of bloggers (me included) who can’t even do simple designing, so if you are good at it, perhaps you could design and release a few pink themes?
So, I am hoping that whoever happens to read my post, please do something to spread the awareness. It only takes a moment of our time.
Additional Note: How far would this ‘Pink Penguin’ goes? How well would the awareness spread?? Thus, I’ve just come up with the idea by tagging all the amazing women in my blogroll who I know will be glad to help in spreading the words.
Thank you!!

Hey, LOVE this pinky theme! ;-D
So your aunt passed away due to breast cancer? Sorry to hear that, but she's in a better place now. ;-D
LOVE the pink penguin and I understand your concern. I'll write something about this later on. ;-D
Thanks, Amel :). Yes, she's in a better place now :). That's what we've been telling ourselves. She'd inspired us to do a regular check-up and not just take it easy before it's too late.
Hey, me too!! I love the pink penguin. So cute and helpful!! Waiting to be passed around ;D. Put him in your blog ;D
Thank you for the mention! And I am proud to see another blogger blogging to raise awareness on Breast Cancer.
Keep up the great work! :)

Hello Crystal!
Of course I will help you pass the pinguin :)!
I shall post it, today :)!
I won't promise the pink theme, cause I detest pink; however I shall put a banner on my side bar...

Hi Crystal! Sorry I'm late! I will pass on the penguin over at Mariuca's Perfume Gallery, my other blog. That already has a pink theme to it!

Will: My pleasure. Hope you'll participate. Thanks!! :)
Hi, I came over from Marzie's. My aunt died of breast cancer last year. Its really sad that cancer is such a horrifying illness that tore the families apart. My eldest brother is suffering from bone cancer. He has only got a few more mths, now at the advanced stage.
Its really heart breaking for the whole family :(
Janice Ng
Janice: Oh, I'm so sorry to hear about your loss and your eldest brother. It's awfully painful. Sometimes, when one of our family members is suffering from severe illness, it's either tearing the family apart or brings them closer with each other. I really hope you and your family will regain strength and faith. I'll pray for your bro.
Thank you for sharing, Janice. :)
Hi, Choc! I have passed the penguin! Thank you!
Also, I love your little wedding video. Congratulations! And you are gorgeous!
Tish: Thank you so much, Tish!!
And, thanks for the compliment on me and the slide show...;D
Thanks for passing it to me. ;)
Grace: My pleasure :)
hi! thanks for visiting my page and thak you too for passing the pink penguin on to me.
i'd like you to know that this is one disease I've always been concerned of. a friend of mine is battling the big C and it has already metastazised to other organs. i do have benign breast cysts too and had undergone surgeries to remove them but they keep coming back. now, i undergo every 6 months tests. so far, everything is good and there's nothing alarming.
thanks for passing this on to me.
~juliana
Juliana: You're welcome. I'm sorry to hear about your friend. My eldest sis has benign cyst in one of her breasts too, but the specialist assured that she didn't need to do any surgery. That's good news.
Anyway, glad to hear there's nothing to worry about in your case. I hope everything will go on well. Take care!! :)
