Some people just love to sing even though they do not have a great voice, but they could find themselves singing while having the showers, cooking, driving or anywhere at all. Just sing makes them feel in the mood. Even I love to sing.
I would like to share with you what I have read recently, which I found outrageous. It was about a jobless man who was shot to dead for singing out of tune in one of the karaoke bars in a country that I do not think it is wise to mention here. Sometimes I, myself, could get irritated if somebody sings like it is the end of the world, but this is quite an incident!
Quoted from the news, it was said that this man was halfway through his song when the security guard yelled that he was out of tune. Enjoying his time, he just continued singing and ignored the security guard, but this mad fellow pulled out his revolver and shot him in the chest. Poor man, he died instantly. Who might have thought that his bad singing would be the caused of his death? Fortunately, there was an off-duty policeman around and the security guard was detained shortly after the shooting.
It was reported that this kind of incidents are common in this region karaoke bars and patrons should be aware not to sing out of tune when singing popular song like “My Way” by Frank Sinatra. This song has been taken off many karaoke bars in this place because it is one of the songs that would lead to fights and even deaths if it is not sang well. Woh, feel like singing now? - Source: AFP, TDE, June 01 2007

25 Choc Mint Bitez!:
Wow thats just wow I would of never thought somebody would get shoot and killed for singing out of tune. I mean not everybody can sing the way everybody whants to hear.?
WWHHHHAAATTTTT?!?!?!?!?! I'm speechless now. I've never heard of such a story before. The world has gone maaaadddd!
Thanks for your kind words! Hope you'll be back for more visits. :-)
That security guard must have a mental problem not diagnosed.
hey, i'm absolutely new to blogspot and just happened to stumble across your blog.
wow
that's almost hilarious in a really disturbing way.
i'm not sure what to make of that.. but at any rate it sure was a waste of a life O_o and i'm certain sinatra himself would feel the same way.
thanks for sharing!
that is quite the story. everyone likes to sing, publicly or privately. I am very guilty of this. I cannot sing, shouldnt sing, but to me, I am ella fitzgerald with a beautiful voice one day or I might think I sound like christina aguilera the next.
karaoke is meant for fun. its supposed to be bad. it does not however cause an excuse for the man's actions for shooting someone.
Wow... That's exactly why I don't sing in karaoke !
Do you think I'm still safe to sing in the shower ? ;)
Thank you all for visiting my blog. When I first read the news I felt so angry and still do. What will happen if everybody sings out of tune that night? It was unbelievable.
The world and the people have indeed gone mad, Amel. We heard different stories everyday that could affect our emotions.
Maybe he does have a mental problem like Mother Hen said, and that’s quite true, Jeff. Not everybody can sing better. I think the security guard would have shot himself if he is placed in the American Idol’s audition room.
So, it wasn’t an excuse to react irrationally just because someone is having fun time singing like what RW commented.
I couldn’t agree more with Friedmoon, cause of death: being shot because of singing out of tune. What a waste of life!
Sure, Joel. Thanks!
Yikes! I am sure glad I haven't been shot for my singing.
i will always feel like singing!even if i'm not janis joplin or laura pausini!
to shoot someone because his voice is out of tune...oh man it's like to forbidden to people to feel happy or sad!i'm sure that was an accident!
lalalalala laaaaaaaaaalalalalala lalalalllllllllllaaaaa lalalalal lalalllaaaaaaaaa :D
ciao ciao!
I accidently recorded myself singing once via my cellphone voicemail. I should have been shot. (kidding). That is quite an article. Great blog!

That's some crazy stuff! I'm new to blogging and found you on Blogger-Review check out my blog sometime. I'll be sure to return to yours! Thanks!
I love to sing though I can't. But to be shot for singing bad. That isnt good.
Monday I was having a bad day, but singing on the way to work helped me out. Changed my mood. So maybe Singing can be a mood changer. Anyway, have a good one. if you are free check out my blog.

I think I've made a wise decision to limit my public singing. Asian countries love Karaoke and during a recent visit to Thailand we had so much fun participating. No one seemed to mind that we were off key. Thank goodness.
Thanks for visiting my blog earlier.

Hi, everyone! Here goes:-
Zhu, just sing your heart out in the shower if that makes you happy, but make sure the door is closed...just kidding :)
Aha...better be careful, Lori…;)
Ouch! Stop it, Sabina! :D ciao!
Oh, accidently?! :D…thanks, Geoff!
Thanks! Will check yours out, thrugreeneyes.
Sure, Ryan. Will do that. Thanks!
That’s very true, Angel. Thank God! It’s not in my country.
This article has indeed stirred up our imaginations and opened our eyes that crazy things like this do happen. Creepy, isn't it?
Thank you all for your comments!!!
nice story
should put it on digg.com
its a bit awfull to shot dead a person who's singing.
Oh Lord! Then a lot of people would have to be killed here in Portugal: most people singing in Karaoke bars are off-key! However this petit histoire tells us of how decayed some societies are becoming: singing off-key as a reason to commit murder! shameful...
i can see how someone who can't sing, would annoy you, but enough to shoot him? well i guess it depends on how bad the guy was :P
I too agree with amel's comment. The World has most definitely gone mad. I think that many have forgotten about the two world wars that took place to ensure that we had our freedom. The millions of lives that were lost - our generations have got so much to be thankful for.
I also agree with "the real mother hen", this guy must have had a psychological problem to do something so horrific.
On a final note, this is probably why I don't sing in public. Even the local cats and dogs run and hide when I start singing!!
Anywayz, your blog just gets better and better - keep it going!!!
Love your name and outlook. We need people like you in this world to balance the bad people!!
Thanks, Lady D.
That is what scare us most, Max. How little thing like this could end up into a nightmare! Feel sorry for that guy.
Well, vtramp, just imagine if we were in his shoes…
Thank you, Lorelai…:)
Thanks, Graham. I thought it is going to rain if you start to sing…:D
It's amazing what people can do when they're drunk.
In this case, the security guard was on duty so I don't think he's allowed to drink(?). Too bad I didn't have the full info. Anyway, thanks for your comment, Manimala!
