On Kombai where you replied to me I've been a team member for years, but on my own blog it has been slow to get in readers. Your best bet is to go out and read and comment on blogs you like. People will (60% of the time) go and read you in return. I've also clicked on replies in blogs when I've read someone who sounds nice - that has led me to making three new friends as well building up about six new readers that way.
Here's my blog and two other bloggers I know who are nice and will reply to you if you leave comments on their blogs. :-)
